Beppie Weiss was born in Indiana. After completing her studies she lived in Amsterdam where she worked as a commercial artist and art teacher. In 1973 she returned to the states and worked as an illustrator for the Illinois Department of Public Education. That year she met her future husband and immigrated to Vancouver Canada where she lived and worked for a number of years. In 1987 she moved with her family to Iowa where she continues to create her art.
Ms. Weiss has always been interested in figurative art and has developed a loose but realistic style in both of her preferred media, pastel and oil painting. Besides portrait commissions, the varied activities in her daily life provide the creative spark and subject matter of her work.

Her love of nature and gardening has been the inspiration for her many paintings of flowers and gardens, and most recently her work "en plein air" streamside as her husband fly fishes.
